PURPOSE: An electronic device, an AR(Augmented Reality) image generation method, and a computer-readable recording medium are provided to determine depth of a subject by using a stereo image and generate an AR image corresponding to the depth, thereby generating the AR image without contradiction for perspective. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(110) receives a stereo image, which photographs a subject in a separated position, and position information of a CG(Computer Graphics) object. A calculation unit(150) divides the stereo image into a plurality of areas and calculates a depth value of each area. A rendering unit(160) generates a rendering image for the CG object by using the depth value and the position information of the CG object. A synthesis unit(170) synthesizes the rendering image and the stereo image.
