The baffle (1) has a support (2) made of molded plastic material i.e. polypropylene, and including an opening (3) that is closed by a medallion (4). The medallion is made of molded plastic material e.g. polyamide or saturated polyester, whose fusion point is higher than that of the polypropylene, where density of the polypropylene is less than density of the polyamide or saturated polyester. A part of a periphery (5) of the medallion is overmolded by the support. The polyamide or saturated polyester contains flame retardant agent. One of the materials is loaded with reinforcing fibers. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a sub-engine baffle.
