A drum washing machine is provided to simply separate a pollutant of the laundry from the laundry by the nonlinear vibration generated due to a cavitation phenomenon of ultrasonic waves. A drum washing machine includes an ultrasonic wave generating device(40). The ultrasonic wave generating device has a vibrator(41) for oscillating ultrasonic waves and a drive unit(42) for oscillating the ultrasonic waves. The drive unit for oscillating the ultrasonic waves is a device for driving the vibrator for oscillating the ultrasonic waves. A linear motor, an electromagnetic actuator, or an actuator of a machine vibration transmitting method using a cam and a crank unit is used as the drive unit for oscillating the ultrasonic waves. The vibrator for oscillating the ultrasonic waves is installed inside of a drum or a tub as a member to generate a cavitation phenomenon and a nonlinear vibration on laundry water and the laundry. |
