PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material is provided to be nontoxic and have stable output in a wide SOC region, by mixing a lithium-containing metal oxide with high discharging voltage. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material includes a lamellar lithium manganese oxide represented by chemical formula 1: a[Li2MnO3]·(1-a)[LiM^1O2] and a lithium-containing metal oxide represented by chemical formula 3: Li(NixCoyAlz)O2. In chemical formula 1, 0 <a<1, M^1 is one or more metals selected from Mn, Ni, Co, Fe, Cr, V, Cu, Zn, Ti, Al, Mg, and B, In chemical formula 3, each of x, y, and z is independently selected from 0<x, y, z<1; and x+y+z=1.
