<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need to provide a plurality of illumination boards even if a product reading device includes a plurality of imaging units, and also to eliminate the need to increase the number of times for light irradiation from the illumination boards. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device of an embodiment comprises first imaging means, generation means, irradiation means, and second imaging means. The first imaging means acquires an image in which a first imaging region is imaged according to a first imaging control signal which causes imaging at prescribed intervals. The generation means generates an illumination control signal which makes the irradiation means irradiate an irradiation region including the first imaging region with light in synchronization with imaging by the first imaging means, and a second imaging control signal which causes imaging a second imaging region in synchronization with imaging by the first imaging means. The irradiation means irradiates the first imaging region and the second imaging region with light according to the generated illumination control signal.
