<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive recorder that strictly prevents alteration of recorded image data. <P>SOLUTION: A drive recorder includes acceleration obtaining means (16) for obtaining acceleration of a vehicle larger than a predetermined value, image pick-up means for picking up an image in front of the vehicle, and storage means (34) for storing image data picked up by the image pick-up means during time periods before and after the time when the acceleration obtaining means (16) has detected the acceleration greater than the predetermined value.
