<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road guidance displaying method that can present a road guidance function giving a sense of virtual presence on the scene based on a real road situation by utilizing photographed images linked with geographical information, and an apparatus for implementing the method. <P>SOLUTION: A road guidance displaying apparatus comprises a user input unit for enabling a user to input control commands; a positional information receiver for receiving positional information transmitted by wireless communication; a camera that photographs street images of specific points in accordance with prescribed control signals; a street information storage that stores image information photographed by the camera together with information on the position at the time of each shooting; a guidance message output unit that provides road guidance to a driver by a visual or oral message in accordance with a prescribed control signal; and a control unit that, when it is confirmed that a street image reproducing command is inputted or that a vehicle has entered into an area within a prescribed distance from the geographical point where the pertinent street image was photographed, so performs control as to cause the street image stored in the street information storage to be read out and to be outputted via the guidance message output unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
