PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display only a desired face image to allow the user to easily grasp a person's face and expression at the time of photographing.

SOLUTION: A display section 26 displays a captured image as a through image. A face detecting section 18 detects a face image region included in the captured image. A feature extracting section 19 extracts a feature amount from the face image region. An expression determining section 20 determines the expression of the face in response to the extracted feature amount. Feature amounts for identifying a person for respective expressions of the plurality of faces are stored in a storage section 21. A retrieval section 22 retrieves the feature amount corresponding to the determined expression from the storage section 21. A person identifying section 23 identifies a person by comparing the extracted feature amount with the retrieved feature amount. A face image extracting section 24 extracts the face image corresponding to the person identified by the person specification section 23 from the image. A face image display control section 36 performs control so that the face images extracted by the face image extracting section 24 are displayed in a display section 26 being arranged in a uniform size and superposed on the through image.
