<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that although the SNR of a reproduction signal is improved by increasing reproduction power, maximum reproduction power allowed for respective reproduction speeds of respective media depends upon reproduction light resistance of the media and cannot be uniquely determined. <P>SOLUTION: Maximum reproduction power for each reproduction speed is calculated based upon reproduction signal quality, a reproduction lifetime, or the allowed number of times of reproduction. A parameter of an approximate expression is calculated from the relation between a reproduction speed and reproduction power or the relation between the reproduction speed ratio and a reproduction power ratio. The maximum reproduction power allowed for each reproduction speed of each medium is determined based upon the approximate expression, and reproduction is carried out using the maximum reproduction power to maximize the SNR without deteriorating the medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
