<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a fracture in a strip in a hot-rolling finishing mill that can automatically detect a fracture in a strip with a high degree of accuracy in a hot-rolling finishing mill, and stop the mill immediately. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: figuring out a differential load and a summed load between a driven side and a non-driven side of a rolling stand; calculating a differential load ratio defined by (differential load×summed load×100); comparing the calculated differential load ratio and two threshold values β<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and β<SB POS="POST">2</SB>(β<SB POS="POST">1</SB>>β<SB POS="POST">2</SB>for this purpose) set in advance; and then giving off an intermittent alarm when the calculated differential load is >β<SB POS="POST">1</SB>, or stopping the mill immediately when the calculated differential load is >β<SB POS="POST">2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
