The system (1) has unlocking units (2) for unlocking a folding mechanism of a vehicle seat (10), and actuator units (3a) for actuating the unlocking units. The actuator units are spaced from each other. Coupling units (4a) i.e. pulling elements such as Bowden cables, couple the unlocking units with the actuator units, respectively. One of the coupling units comprises input units i.e. tension compensators. One of the actuator units is fastened in a loading space (22) stationarily on an outer wall. One of the unlocking units is arranged at a seat part (12) with a trigger element (2a). The actuator units are designed as manually actuatable, electrical, mechatronic and/or electronic actuator units e.g. hand levers, pulling element and/or operation knobs.
