Tyre carcass assembly pressing apparatus and method therefor. In the apparatus a component pressing apparatus (50) and a cord pressing apparatus (60) are integrally mounted on the same sliding frame (3) to improve the initial installation accuracy of two independently arranged structures and the miniaturized design of the entire machine structure, thereby improving on the accuracy of component and cord pressing operations successively implemented. The tyre carcass assembly pressing apparatus is provided at one side of a tyre carcass drum (100) of a tyre forming machine and comprises a component pressing apparatus (50) for pressing the inner liner and the sidewall rubber and a cord pressing member (2) for pressing the cord connections. The component pressing apparatus (50) and the cord pressing member (2) are installed on the same sliding frame (3). The sliding frame (3) is connected in a meshing engagement to guide rails (40) on two sides of a base by means of a bottom sliding block (30), and a first drive gas cylinder (41) is installed between the sliding frame (3) and the base (4) for driving the sliding frame (3) longitudinally in a reciprocating movement.
