<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology by which the occurrence of a failure in an image forming device can be accurately predicted. <P>SOLUTION: A state information collection unit 11 of an image forming device acquires, from an image forming device, sheet information indicating the type of a sheet for forming an image and a monitoring parameter indicating an internal state of the device, and stores them in a first state information time series data storage unit 12 as time-series data. A second state information time series data storage unit 14 detects replacement of a sheet on the basis of the time-series data of the sheet information, acquires correction characteristics according to the type of the replaced sheet from a sheet information database 13 through a sheet correction characteristic extraction unit 15, and corrects the time-series data of the monitoring parameter on the basis of the acquired correction characteristics. A time-series data change point detection unit 16 and a fault symptom determination unit 17 perform failure prediction about the image forming device by using the corrected time-series data.
