<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and low-cost imaging apparatus capable of preventing parallax without an additional constituent member and structural enlargement. <P>SOLUTION: A main object detection part 32d detects a main object from photograph image signals acquired by a solid state imaging device 21a. A main object distance calculation part 34b calculates a distance to the detected main object. A determination part 32a acquires an amount of parallax on the basis of the distance to the main object and determines whether the main object is in an outside region out of a field angle of a finder device but in a field angle of an imaging optical system on the basis of the amount of parallax.
