An image processing method, comprising the following steps: cutting an original image into preset sizes, ensuring that neighboring image portions are superposed by at least one pixel; reducing the image portions according to a reduction factor to obtain a target image; calculating the coordinates of the target image according to the reduction factor and the coordinates of the image portions; and splicing the target image according to the coordinates of the target image. The above image processing method enables neighboring image portions to be superposed by at least one row/column of pixels when the original image is cut up, thus ensuring at least one row/column of pixels between neighboring image portions. When the image portions are reduced, the white "crack" will not occur between two neighboring image portions after integering the sizes of the image portions according to the reduction factor, thus improving the overall smoothness of the reduced image.
