Method and device for labelling containers with stretch sleeves

The device has spreading units (6) for spreading label cases, and lifting units (7) for lifting container to upstand in spread label cases. Guide units (8) are close to the container standing on the lifting unit for lateral guidance of the container while lifting. The guide units are formed for locking rotational position of the standing container to the lifting units. An extensive air gap (14) i.e. 1 mm width air gap, is provided between the guide units and a side wall (2a) of the container. An independent claim is also included for a method for labeling containers.
