<p>A game controller includes a lower shell 20, an upper shell 10, and top covers 40 which releasably cover upper shell battery compartments 13. Magnets (not shown) provided between the upper and lower shells are accessible via apertures 14 in the upper shell, and complementary metal blocks (not shown) are provided on the top covers for securing the top covers to the upper shell magnets. Snap fix or friction fit means are also provided for additionally securing the top covers to the upper shell. The snap fix means comprise positioning pillars (11, fig. 4) extending downwardly from the upper cover and provided with cylindrical rubber sleeves (30, fig. 4). A through bore extends through the positioning pillars, sheaths and upper cover, and an inner wall of the sheath includes engaging formations (see fig. 6). The top covers include downwardly extending fixing pillars 41 having engaging formations which complement the sheath formations. When the top covers are attached to the upper shell, the fixing pillars pass through the through bores and engage with the formations on the sheath to snap the covers in place (see fig. 5).
