<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground fault protection relay system preventing dual line interruption when a main protection (ground fault line selecting relay device) is not used and prolonging of a fault continuation time, and eliminating the necessity of the main protection. <P>SOLUTION: A first power transmission terminal ground fault direction relay device 11<SB>1</SB>is provided with: a first trip signal instantaneously generating means for instantaneously generating a first trip signal T<SB>DG1</SB>for interrupting a first breaker 4<SB>1</SB>on conditions that a first ground fault detecting overvoltage relay device installed on a power transmission terminal bus line operates, that it is determined that "a ground fault occurs in an own line direction", that a second power transmission terminal ground fault direction relay device 11<SB>2</SB>does not determine that "a ground fault occurs in the own line direction", and that first and second breakers 4<SB>1</SB>, 4<SB>2</SB>are both in an input state.
