Disclosed is a control device or controller 11 to fit over a portable touch screen device 1 such as a smartphone, turning the touch screen device into a games machine. The control device 11 has a casing 13 having clips 15, 17 to attach the device to the portable touch screen device and a viewing aperture 19 through which the screen 3 can be viewed. The control device has a set of control buttons mounted on the casing located next to the viewing aperture, in a position remote from the screen, and a set of control pads mounted on the casing next to the viewing aperture in a position for engagement of a peripheral portion of the screen. A mechanical coupling rod 51 links each control button to its a corresponding control pad to translate the actuation of that control button to actuation of its control pad. The control device may have sets of control buttons on both side of the screen. |
