Camera-based code reader and method for its adjusted manufacture

The reader (10) has image sensors (32) with line-shaped individual reading areas (18a-18d) that are overlapped to form line-shaped reading area. The image sensor captures an image line, and an illumination unit (28,30) illuminates line-shaped reading area. An evaluation unit (46) composes an image from successively captured image lines and decoding unit (48) locates and decodes code information in the image. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing adjusted camera-based code reader.
