摘要 PURPOSE: A method for controlling the ignition timing of an engine is provided to restrain the sudden increase of engine torque in acceleration driving, thereby improving drivability and fuel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the ignition timing of an engine includes the following steps: an injection pattern checking step(S10) of checking fuel injection patterns which are a single injection and a split injection inside the engine; an injection pattern determining step(S20) of determining the fuel injection pattern checked in the step(S10); an ignition timing initializing step(S30) of initializing a compensation value for the ignition timing when the fuel injection pattern is determined to be the split injection in the step(S20); an ignition timing calculating step(S40) of calculating the ignition timing at the completion of the single injection and the present ignition timing; and an ignition timing comparing step(S50) of comparing the present ignition timing with the optimal ignition timing of a present driving condition.
