ODOR GASES REMOVAL APPARATUS USING ELECTRO-ACTIVATED CATALYST OXIDATION PROCESS, AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus for treating bad odor gas and a method for the same are provided to prevent electric current efficiency from reducing. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for treating bad odor gas includes an electrolytic cell(10), a gas-liquid contact oxidation reactor(40), an anolyte reservoir(20), a catholyte reservoir(30), a heat exchanger(60), and a mist collecting unit(50). Bad odor gas with variety of components is simultaneously removed by a method for treating bad odor gas using an electro-activated catalyst oxidation process. The method includes the following steps of: electrochemically oxidizing an electro-activated catalyst on the anode surface of the electrolytic cell; oxidizing bad odor materials by injecting the oxidized electro-activated catalyst into the gas-liquid contact oxidation reactor; and collecting carbon dioxide, generated by the oxidation of the bad odor materials, into catholyte.
