PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device and an object detection method capable of detecting an object quickly in a wider range.

SOLUTION: An object detection device 101 includes: an imaging part 11 for imaging a two-dimensional image for a plurality of wavelength ranges selected in advance in accordance with physical property of a detection object; and a detection part 12 for detecting a material in each pixel of the two-dimensional image. The imaging part 11 includes an imaging element part 32 and a wavelength filter part 31, and the wavelength filter part 31 has a movable mechanism for selecting a wavelength selection filter.
