PURPOSE: A hair treatment composition is provided to ensure hair conditioning effects and to maintain hair style. CONSTITUTION: A hair treatment composition contains 0.01-10 wt% of reducing sugar as an active ingredient. The reducing sugar is selected from a group consisting of xylose, glucose, fructose, galactose, lactose, and maltose. The composition further contains one or more kinds selected from amino acids and proteins. A method for hair treatment comprises: a step of applying the hair treatment composition on hair; and a step of heating at 60-200 deg. C.
