<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably generate hysteresis. <P>SOLUTION: An accelerator pedal device 10 force acting on a second slider 46 (or first slider 42) accompanied by the slide of a first slider 42 (or a second slider 46) is converted between a vehicle longitudinal direction and a vehicle vertical direction by a link 48 when a pedal arm 20 is rocked. Forces having different magnitudes in accordance with a direction in which the pedal arm 20 is rocked act between the pedal arm 20 and first slider 42. Hysteresis is generated by the sliding resistances of the first slider 42 and the second slider 46 and by a force acting between the pedal arm 20 and first slider 42. The first slider 42 and the second slider 46 are manufactured by a favorable sliding material such as a PTFE so that sliding resistance is reduced.
