<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charging method for a hybrid vehicle enabling an efficient hybrid mode operation and improvement in fuel consumption of the vehicle by enabling charging of a battery to be smooth even during stopping of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle includes an engine and a motor as motive power sources, and a battery for storing electrical energy for driving the motor. The method includes: a step for determining whether or not charging of the battery is necessary during stopping of the vehicle; a step for switching a transmission to a neutral stage (N stage) when charging of the battery is necessary; a step for starting the engine; a step in which the motor generates electrical energy by driving force of the engine by fastening an engine clutch for connecting the engine and the motor; and a step for storing the electrical energy generated by the motor to the battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
