<p>A sealing sheet (60) includes a first or primary layer (62) of liquid impermeable material, having a roughened upper surface (64). A second layer (66) of granules, preferably bentonite granules, preferably formed of two bentonite sublayers (70, 72), which expand when contacted by a liquid, such as water or liquid organic compounds, is coupled to the first layer (62). The second layer of granules (66) has an irregular surface (74) generally defined by granules comprising the second layer (66). A modified polymer base layer (68) of liquid impermeable material substantially conforms to the irregular surface (74).</p> |
