摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous ceramics useful as a water-quality purification element, having microorganism supporting ability, and also having continuous pores (tunnel structure) having an opening on the surface, and to provide a method for producing porous ceramics by using volcanic ash and waste glass as raw materials. <P>SOLUTION: The porous ceramics having continuous pores (tunnel structure) with the pore size of 10 nm to several tens &mu;m having an opening on the surface are obtained by heating, partially melting, fine powder having the blending ratio by weight: volcanic ash:waste glass=6:1 to 4:3. In the method for producing porous ceramics, a raw material having the blending ratio by weight: volcanic ash:waste glass=6:1 to 4:3 is finely crushed until the particle size becomes several &mu;m or smaller, mixed and homogenized, and then stored in a container such as a crucible, and the container is lidded, thereafter the raw material in the container is heated at 750-1,100&deg;C for 30-90 minutes in the air to melt it partially, and then heating is stopped to cool it naturally. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
