<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device capable of continuing operating normally even if a spindle motor is failed. <P>SOLUTION: Even if a spindle motor 27 of a recording disk driving device 19 of one of a plurality of carriers 16 accommodated in a predetermined array is failed, a disk array device 11 can continue the rotation of the failed spindle motor 27 by rotation driving force of a spindle motor 27 of a recording disk driving device 19 of an adjacent carrier 16. Therefore, information can be read from a recording disk 33 of the recording disk driving device 19 including the failed spindle motor 27. Consequently, the disk array device 11 can continue operating normally, thereby avoiding deterioration of redundancy of the disk array device 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
