PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to variously control an operation of the mobile terminal by using an audio signal regarding a physical impact pattern of a user. CONSTITUTION: A microphone sensor(121) of an audio signal detecting unit(120) detects an audio signal to convert the audio signal into an electric voltage signal. A comparator(123) compares the voltage signal with a preset reference signal to generate an interrupt signal. A control unit(150) determines the interrupt signal generated from the audio signal detecting unit to execute a corresponding control command.
