<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver protection device capable of prevent damage to the leg of a driver to the maximum in the event of a collision accident. <P>SOLUTION: A driver protection device includes: a brake pedal which is connected to a pedal mounting bracket via a pedal hinge bolt and a return spring such that the brake pedal can elastically rotate and has an actuating protrusion pointing toward the front direction integrally formed on an outer peripheral surface of the connection with the pedal hinge bolt; a collision bracket rotatably connected via a rotating shaft to the pedal mounting bracket located at a distance from the actuating protrusion in the front direction; a cowl bracket fixed onto the pedal mounting bracket; and a pedal rotator which is installed to be coupled with the collision bracket and forces the brake pedal to rotate forward by coming into contact with the actuating protrusion when collision energy of a collision accident moves the pedal mounting bracket or cowl bracket backward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
