The device has a light source (11) e.g. LED, adapted to produce a light beam, whose luminous flow is greater than a preset threshold flow value by intermittency, for high flow period of duration lower than retinal persistence time of a human subject. A capture unit e.g. camera, captures a series of images of an environment (100) illuminated by the light beam produced by the light source. A display unit displays images captured by the capture unit. A synchronization unit ensures that the display unit displays only the captured images during period of high flow of the source. An independent claim is also included for a method for lighting an environment of a car to be viewed by driver.
