PURPOSE: A semiconductor switch and a power conversion apparatus are provided to suppress a turn-on loss due to a junction capacitor charging current. CONSTITUTION: A main device(1) is a voltage-driven switching device of a high withstand voltage. A reverse current prevention device(3) has a lower withstand voltage than the main device. A fast feedback diode(4) uses a cathode of the main device as a cathode and a cathode of the reverse current prevention device as an anode, by connecting an anode of the main device to an anode of the reverse current prevention device. The fast feedback diode is connected between a cathode port and an anode port in a forward direction from the cathode port to the anode port and has the same withstand voltage as the main device. A preliminary voltage supply circuit(5) connects a plus voltage to the cathode of the main device, and generates a voltage pulse which is lower than the withstand voltage of the main device. The preliminary voltage supply circuit outputs the voltage pulse by synchronization with the off-time of the main device or the reverse current prevention device. |
