<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of reducing an amount of water which is delivered from the water heater until a hot-water supply start operation is started when detecting a failure of a gas opening/closing valve at the hot-water supply start operation. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater includes a control unit 32 which opens a water stop valve 10 when an instruction to start hot-water supply is given by a hot-water supply switch 22, opens a gas opening/closing valve 16 when a water pressure responding valve 17 is opened by a water governor valve 11, carries out the processing of igniting a burner 5 by an ignition plug 7 for a given failure detection time, and makes a failure announcement when a flame rod 8 detects a flame within the failure detection time. The water heater also includes a failure detection time setting unit 34 which sets a shorter failure detection time in response to a shorter elapsed time from the previous extinguishment of the burner 5 to the start of the ignition process by the control unit 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
