<p>Derivatives of 2-hydroxy-3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(alkyl or trifluoromethyl)propionic acid bearing a phenyl or naphthyl group linked to the 2-hydroxy group either directly or via an intermediate methylene group. The compounds reduce the concentrations of cholesterol, total esterified fatty acids or fibrinogen in the blood plasma of test animals and some compounds show anti-arthritic properties.</p> |
