To provide a load detection device that improves the precision of detection of the load of a passenger by means of a simple, low-cost structure, the invention is a film-shaped load detection device provided with: three or more detection sections that contact the sitting-side surface of a vehicle seat pad member, and detect the load on the pad member; and connection portions that connect the detection sections. Said load detection device is provided with a tail portion that: is connected with the connection portions within a sensing area (S) surrounded by the three or more detection sections; bends downward in the sensing area and extends downward from the sitting surface of the seat pad member; and at the bottom edge thereof, has a deriving section that derives a load signal detected by the detection sections. |
