<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drying efficiency of a drying device that performs drying treatment of a treated object by mixing the treated object with a heating medium in a rotating drum. <P>SOLUTION: In a drying device (1) that performs drying treatment of a treated object by mixing the treated object with a heating medium (8) in a rotating drum (10), the drum (10) includes a feeding section (15) where the treated object before drying treatment is fed, a discharge section (16) for discharging the treated object after drying treatment, a treatment section (18) for conveying while mixing the treated object and the heating medium (8) between the feeding section (15) and the discharge section (16), and a refluxing section (17) for refluxing the heating medium (8) from the discharge section (16) to the feeding section (15). Partition walls (26) are provided that divide the treatment section (18) into a plurality of treatment chambers (27) along the rotation direction.
