Disclosed are an apparatus for providing system information and a method for same. In the apparatus, a location determination unit receives an uplink signal from a terminal, which is connected to a first network and redirected to a second network, and determines a base station of the first network which is closest to the terminal. A mapping table maps and saves at least one base station of the second network that is geographically close to the base station of the first network. A signal processing unit extracts information of the at least one base station of the second network, which is mapped on the mapping table with respect to the base station of the first network that is determined by the location determination unit, and transmits system information which is extracted and is relevant to the base station of the second network to the terminal.
