<p>The objective of the present invention is to provide: an air conditioner that can achieve an ideal refrigeration cycle state; and a method for controlling the opening of an expansion valve of the air conditioner. In the present invention, the temperature difference between the discharge temperature of a compressor and the condensation temperature in the condensation process of a condenser is calculated as an actual discharge temperature difference, and the opening of the expansion valve of the refrigeration cycle is adjusted/controlled in a manner so that the actual discharge temperature difference becomes a target discharge temperature difference set in a manner so that a target degree of superheating results. At such a time, the target discharge temperature difference is set/altered on the basis of the rotational frequency information of an indoor fan. For example, when the rotational frequency of the indoor fan is greater than a predetermined value, the target discharge temperature difference is corrected in a manner so as to be suppressed at a low level. As a result, it is possible to control the expansion valve to an appropriate opening, and it is possible to obtain a target degree of superheating.</p> |
