<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimmer capable of easily controlling the power at the lower limit within a light control range. <P>SOLUTION: A dimmer 1 includes: a rotary handle 29 rotatably disposed on the front face of a dimmer body 20; and a light control section that controls and lights an illumination load within a predetermined light control range by changing the power supplied to the illumination load according to the set position of the rotary handle 29. The dimmer body 20 has a cover 40 detachably attached to front side thereof. The dimmer body 20 has a tact switch 31 disposed on the front face thereof at a position facing to a projection formed on the rear face of the cover 40. Since a push button 31a of the tact switch 31 is not pushed by the projection of the cover 40, when the cover 40 is removed, the operation mode of the dimmer 1 is switched to a control mode.
