<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correlation calculation apparatus capable of performing a new difference total calculation which is highly robust regarding regular illumination variation and unevenness in spatially low-frequency illumination, and which achieves high speed calculation by utilizing a Sequential Similarity Detection Algorithm (SSDA) method. <P>SOLUTION: A correlation calculation apparatus includes: low pass filter means which performs low pass filtering on first function data and second function data both being functions dependent on position variables, so as to generate third function data and fourth function data; and correlation calculation means which calculates, on the basis of a difference between first product data obtained by multiplying the first function data and the fourth function data at a variable value of the position variables and second product data obtained by multiplying the second function data and the third function data at the variable value, a correlation value between the first product data and the second product data at the variable value, so as to calculate a correlation degree between the first function data and the second function data on the basis of an integrated value obtained by integrating correlation values each obtained every time the variable value is changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
