<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents overshoot of a fixing member due to a sudden blackout, a sudden power switch-off operated by a user, and opening of a main body cover from occurring and that prevents damage such as deterioration or breakage of the fixing member. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing member internally having a fixing heat source; a pressure member for pressing the fixing member; temperature detection means for detecting temperature of the fixing member; a fixing device for heat-fixing an unfixed toner image, on a recording medium conveyed to a fixing nip between the fixing member and the pressure member, on the recording medium; a main power source device; an auxiliary power source device charged by the main power source device; a power failure detection switching unit for switching power supply, to the fixing device except the fixing heat source, to power supply from the auxiliary power source device, when power supply from the main power source device is stopped; and a fixing member rotation control unit for rotating the fixing member when power supply from the main power source device is switched to power supply from the auxiliary power source device by the power failure detection switching unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
