<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good color reproducibility by performing a color tone correction based on accurate visual environment information on a displayed area. <P>SOLUTION: An image display apparatus having display means for displaying an image in a displayed area includes: imaging means for imaging an observation image including the displayed area in which the display means displays an image; reference area determining means for determining a reference area for calculating visual environment information on the displayed area from the observation image; visual environment information calculation means for calculating the visual environment information on the displayed areal from the reference area, and image processing means for correcting an image signal based on the visual environment information on the displayed area which is calculated by the visual environment information calculation means and transmitting the image signal to the display means. Thereby, the image display apparatus is enabled to accurately calculate the visual environment information on the displayed area so as to perform color correction and obtain good color reproducibility. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
