The system (1) has a support (3) for a camera (5) driven by a stabilization drive (7) that comprises rotation drives (9, 11). The rotation drives drive the support around rotational axes (15, 25), where rotational axes of the rotation drives are orthogonal to each other. The stabilization drive includes spinning devices (21, 29) with a spinning unit (23), where the spinning devices are associated to one of the rotational axes. Rotational torques of the rotation drives are supported on the spinning devices. The spinning unit is driven by a separate motor i.e. electric motor. An independent claim is also included for a method for stabilizing a camera.
