Specifically, a process for producing a photovoltaic device (100), the process comprising the steps of forming a first power generation cell layer (91) on a substrate (1), forming an intermediate contact layer (5) on the first power generation cell layer (91), and forming a second power generation cell layer (92) on the intermediate contact layer (5), wherein the process comprises at least one of a step of holding the substrate (1) in an open atmosphere at room temperature for 5 to 25 hours inclusive following formation of the first power generation cell layer (91), and a step of holding the substrate (1) in an open atmosphere at room temperature for 20 to 50 hours inclusive following formation of the intermediate contact layer (5).
