PURPOSE: A smart key ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and a data transmission control method thereof are provided to record vehicle information in an NFC(Near Field Communication) tag of a key fob, and to allow an NFC-enabled portable terminal to read the vehicle information of the NFC tag and provide the vehicle information of the NFC tag to a user. CONSTITUTION: A smart key ECU includes the following parts: a transmission part(110) transmitting a signal corresponding to each event to a key FOB(200), when a vehicle control event to control a vehicle is generated or a vehicle information event to provide vehicle information is generated; a reception part(120) receiving a signal corresponding to each event from the key FOB; and a control part(130) standing by without transmitting a signal corresponding to the vehicle information event through the transmission part until a signal corresponding to a vehicle control event is received by the reception part, when the vehicle information event is generated after a signal corresponding to the vehicle control event is transmitted by the transmission part but before a signal corresponding to the vehicle control event is received by the reception part.
