PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transmitting image data of a vehicle accident data-recording system are provided to transmit image data after multiplexing based on a set channel ratio, receive the image data after demultiplexing, and deliver the demultiplexed image data to an image processing unit, thereby preventing the degradation of the image data during data conversion. CONSTITUTION: Digital image data collected by a plurality of lenses is provided to a data transmission module of a data transmission unit(13). The data transmission module transmits the digital image data after converting into serial image data of a set channel ratio by multiplexing. A data reception module receives the digital image data after converting the multiplexed image data into image data of parallel form by demultiplexing. An image processing unit(15) processes the digital image data transmitted through the data transmission module and stores the processed digital image data in a memory(19).
