PURPOSE: A motor drive control apparatus f and a control method thereof are provided to detect the input or output voltage and the current of a motor for a fuel pump in real time, thereby facilitating fault diagnosis. CONSTITUTION: A voltage detection unit(20) and a current detection unit(21) detect the voltage and the current of driving power which is supplied by a power supply unit to a motor for a fuel pump. A voltage sensor senses voltage supplied by a voltage regulator to a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor senses the pressure of fuel which is pumped by the fuel pump. A central processing unit(18) controls a motor drive unit.
