Disclosed is a peptide of the following sequence: Phe-Thr-Asp-Asn-Tyr-X, wherein X is absent or selected from the group consisting of: -Thr-Arg; -Thr-Arg-Leu-Arg-Lys-Gln; -Thr-Arg-Leu-Arg-Lys-Gln-Met-Ala-Val-Lys; and -Thr-Arg-Leu-Arg-Lys-Gln-Met-Ala-Val-Lys-Lys-Tyr-Leu-Asn; or conservative substitutions thereof. The disclosed peptide is used in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prophylaxis of myocardial fibrosis and/or hypertension.
