NZ 596043 Disclosed is a therapeutic composition for inhibiting an allergic response against a flea allergenic protein comprising: an eukaryotic cell expression vector comprising at least one nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NOs: 2, 22 or 23, or an allergenic fragment thereof, as defined in the complete specification; and a protein or polypeptide encoded by said nucleotide sequence. The disclosed therapeutic composition is used in the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or inhibition of an allergic reaction to a flea allergenic protein.
